Fort Union National Monument has implemented Stage II fire restrictions effective Wednesday, June 25, 2026. Under Stage II restrictions smoking is prohibited, except in enclosed vehicles or buildings. These restrictions are necessary to help reduce fire risk and prevent wildfires.
Visitors should be aware that there is road work occurring in the park starting June 18th and potentially continuing throughout the month. There may be some minor delays and alternative parking arrangements.
