Anikeyashikwe at Ash River: Puzzle Pouch Craft Demonstration

 

Drop in for a chance to connect with Theresa Morrison (Anikeyashikwe), a Bois Forte Band of Chippewa member, artist, dancer, and elder. She will share her craft as she creates traditional puzzle pouches, with a few special pieces available to win in a free raffle during her visit.

Hike with a Geologist

 

Pack a picnic and hit the trails with local educator and geologist Chris Hemstad for a hike through the geologic formations of Voyageurs National Park. The day includes a short presentation on the park’s formation nearly 2.8 billion years ago, along with several brief walks to view examples of geologic features. Please plan to arrive in your own vehicle, as there will be a short drive from the visitor center to viewing locations and trailheads. We’ll also take a break for lunch along the way.
